One Dead, Two Rescued from Balcony at IN Apartment Fire



According to a report from ABC7, Gary (IN) Fire Department (GFD) members discovered one man dead during a search after a fire erupted in a 10-unit combination apartment-commercial building in the 600-block of Ridge Road Thursday night.

GFD crews were dispatched to the building at approximately 9:15 p.m. Firefighters battled heavy fire conditions while rescuing two people from a second-floor balcony.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
