According to a report from NBC Connecticut, a multifamily home in Manchester, Connecticut, is deemed a total loss after fire swept through its four units on West Street early Friday morning. Officials said 14 residents have been displaced.
Manchester Fire Department (MFD) Chief Daniel French said fire crews received the call just before 5 a.m. Friday to the West Street residence with reports of people possibly trapped. However, the residents had eventually escaped.
One civilian and an MFD firefighter were hospitalized as a precaution. French said the civilian’s injuries were not incident-related and the member was not physically hurt, saying it was likely exhaustion.
French said the home will require an extensive overhaul, and the cause of the fire is now under investigation.
