One Firefighter Hurt, 15 Displaced in MA House Fire

According to a report from NBC10, one Boston (MA) Fire Department (BFD) firefighter was injured and 15 residents were displaced during a response at a multifamily home Wednesday night in the city’s Hyde Park neighborhood.

BFD crews responded to a report of a fire on the second floor in the rear of 40 Maple Street at around 6:30 p.m. Crews knocked down the flames quickly, with six adults and nine children escaping from the building.

Firefighters remained on scene for overhaul and to extinguish any remaining hot spots.

Boston EMS transported one BFD crewmember to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The cause of the fire is now under investigation. It was determined that the building suffered around $250,000 in damages.
