One Person Dead in Greene Township (PA) House Fire

One person was reported dead after fire broke out at a home on Sampson Road in Greene Township Tuesday afternoon, according to authorities.

Erie County Chief Deputy Coroner Nick Rekitt was called to the scene.

The fire was reported shortly after 2 p.m. at 9656 Sampson Road, according to an Erie County 911 dispatcher, who confirmed that a fatality was reported.

Volunteers with several local volunteer fire companies, including Kuhl Hose, Waterford, Wattsburg, Perry Hi-Way, Kearsarge and Brookside, were sent to the scene.

The fire was reportedly brought under control by firefighters before 3 p.m. Further details were not immediately available.
