$1,000. This can be reduced up to 80 percent by employer’s good faith.
Serious:
S 1,000 per violation. This can be reduced by 80 percent, depending on employer’s good faith, history of violations, and size of facility.
Willful:
SI0,000 per violation. No credit for good faith.
Repeated Violation:
SI0,000 per violation.
Failure to Correct:
$1,000 per day beyond the date set for abatement.
Note. On March 1, 1991, Congress empowered OSHA to increase these fines sevenfold.
