A firefighter with the city of Oxnard (CA) Fire Department has died after falling ill on the job.
The U.S. Fire Administration reported that on November 28, Captain Scott Carroll, 48, fell ill while working a duty shift that had included one cooking fire and two EMS calls.
Carroll left the station for his personal physician’s office and then home to rest where, two days later, he was found by his wife having suffered a fatal brain aneurysm.
He had 20 years of service.
