A firefighter and civilian were hospitalized during a two-alarm fire at an Earl Township (PA) house fire. According to a report on pottsmerc.com, the recent heavy snowfall that struck the Northeast hampered firefighting efforts at the modular home.
Earl Township Volunteer Fire Company Chief Michael Marburger said fire had already engulfed the right side of a house and roof by the time firefighters arrived at structure early Thursday morning. Two occupants escaped the fire before crews arrived on scene; a woman was transported to a local hospital. A firefighter was also transported, but details on both cases were not available.
Firefighter had difficulty accessing the 600-foot driveway leading to the fire because of the snow and had to walk equipment and hoses up the driveway.
