PA Firefighter Injured, Third-Degree Burn in Pittsburg Fire

 

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Pittsburgh Firefighters responded to a house fire late Sunday night at the 2000 block of Broadhead-Fording Road in the city’s Fairywood neighborhood. A firefighter was seriously burned during the incident. Authorities confirmed that fire crews responded to a call which described smoke escaping from the home according to reports from WTAE in Pittsburgh.

Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from burned food in the home’s kitchen. One firefighter came in contact with a hot kitchen pot containing grease while addressing the incident and was seriously burned. Reports state that the unidentified firefighter was transported to a local hospital and treated for third-degree burns. Fire department authorities have not released an update regarding his condition.
