The Firefighters Support Foundation’s (FSF) newest training program is now available. The Passionate Leadership program is presented by Chief Scott Magers of the Hillsboro (OR) Fire and Rescue agency and consists of a 40-minute video presentation and an accompanying PowerPoint.
“This program showcases Chief Magers’ passionate belief in leadership,” says FSF President David Kenik, “and it reflects his 37 years of progressively increasing responsibility.” Chief Magers’ ardent belief in the power of effective leadership comes right through the screen in his presentation. He discusses the characteristics of great leaders, why you need them, who is right for the job, and who is wrong for the job. He spends much of the presentation on developing the qualities needed for great leadership. In addition to leading Hillsboro Fire and Rescue, Chief Magers is a Type 1 Incident Commander with the Oregon State Fire Marshals Office.
The program is free to all members of public safety and emergency management agencies. Simply watch in the player below or download a copy of the video HERE. Powerpoint is available HERE.
