Report: Pennsylvania Firefighters Knocked Down by Flashover

Two firefighters reportedly had a near miss when they were blown down a flight of stairs in a flashover at a structure fire in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.

The Express-Times (http://bit.ly/1pYXoNN) reported that pair entered the structure before water arrived. One firefighter suffered an arm burn, according to the report.

The fire occurred in Pizza Joe’s Italian Restaurant. The report said much of the fire appeared to be on the second and third floors of the three-story brick building, which was deemed a total loss.

Vigilance Hose Co. No. 1 in Nazareth led firefighting efforts at the scene and was assisted by nearby companies.
