Fire Engineering, a component of PennWell Publishing’s Fire Group, won first place in the “Best Media Brand (Overall Editorial Excellence)” category in the 2015 Jesse H. Neal Awards competition. The Association of Business Information & Media Companies (ABM), a division of the Software & Information Industry Association, made the announcement today at its special awards ceremony.

The “Best Media Brand” category recognizes “a media brand’s overall excellence in its depth of offerings to readers in print and digital environments,” according to ABM. The focus is on how clearly Fire Engineering aligns its editorial mission with journalistic excellence, presentation, service to readers, innovation, and use of multiple content platforms to service the brand’s audience.

Fire Engineering Editor in Chief Bobby Halton goes to accept the award.
