Philadelphia Firefighter Injured in Fall from Roof

A Philadelphia firefighter was injured Saturday morning after falling from a roof during fireground operations in the city’s Kingsessing neighborhood, according to reports.

Randy Ballinger of Ladder 13 fell nearly 25 feet from a roof at a two-story row home on the 1100 block of South Paxon Street, WPVI reported. He sustained a collapsed lung, broken ribs, a broken pelvis, and multiple long bone fractures in both legs.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and no other injuries were reported. An online fundraiser has raised more than $44K for Ballinger.
