Fallen Philadelphia Firefighter Laid to Rest

Casket bearing the body of Lt. Matthew LeTourneau is brought to be loaded onto a fire apparatus


A funeral service was held Friday for Lieutenant Matthew LeTourneau of Philadelphia Fire Department Engine 45, who succumbed to injuries he suffered from a structural collapse while fighting a row house fire on January 6, 2018. According to Fire Commissioner Adam Thiel, LeTourneau will be posthumously promoted to captain.

Hundreds of firefighters from around the region attended the funeral for LeTourneau, 42, at the at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.
