Photo of Firefighter’s Rescue at Boston Marathon Goes Viral

The photo of a firefighter rescuing a woman during the terrorist bombing at the Boston Marathon has gained wide popularity around the Internet.

The image depicts Boston Firefighter James Plourde carrying a patient at the scene of the attacks. Plourde wears a look of concern and grim determination on his face; in the background, police and other officials swarm. A report from the Albany Times Union ( identified the photographer as MetroWest Daily News Photographer Ken McGagh.
