A massive fire destroyed a two family home in Franklin Square, New York, on Monday morning, December 23, 2019.

The first calls came in around 6:30 a.m. for a house fire on Farnum Boulevard near Whiteside Avenue in the Long Island community.

Franklin Square fire units arrived quickly on the scene but flames had already engulfed one side of the home. All occupants of the multi-family home were able to escape to safety.

Fire companies from several surrounding communities also responded to the scene.

The cause of the blaze was being investigated by the Nassau County Fire Marshals office.
