Firefighters responded Tuesday to a second-alarm residential fire in the city of Troy, New York, that displaced four families. Sidewinder Photography shared pics from the scene.

Engine 6 arrived on scene and called for the Signal 30 and stated they had heavy fire from the basement and the first floor of the building. As the Engine 6 crew pulled a handline from the engine, the battalion chief transmitted the second alarm and bring the City of Watervliet and the Watervliet Arsenal to the scene. The Engine 6 crew made an aggressive push on the fire in the basement, but because of the advanced fire spread, firefighters backed out of the building.

As additional companies arrived on scene, firefighters made their way from the basement to the third-floor, conducting a search of the home to make sure everyone was out. As firefighters pulled multiple handlines into the building and started to knock down the fire on the first floor and basement, heavy black smoke started pushing from the roof of the building as the fire made its way to the cockloft area.

Conditions deteriorated and the second floor became heavily involved, ultimately leading to a partial building collapse.

No firefighters were injured.
