Photos: Orlando (FL) Firefighters Pause to Remember 9/11 Victims

Twenty-two years after the 9/11 terror attacks, Orlando (FL) firefighters conducted a candlelight ceremony to honor the victims slain in the World Trade Center, Washington D.C., and Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Craig Jackson of In the Dark Photography shared some photos from the memorial.

In particular, the Orlando Fire Department ceremony focused on honoring the firefighters and law enforcement members who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, including the 2,977 lives lost in New York City, Washington, D.C., and outside of Shanksville, Pennsylvania, in the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States.

There were:

  • 343 red candles (FDNY members killed)
  • 60 blue candles (23 NYPD and 37 PAPD killed)
  • One white candle for Father Mychal Judge
