Pittsburgh and Firefighters Settle Lawsuit

Pittsburgh and 72 current and former fire captains and chiefs have settled a federal overtime lawsuit, reports the Pittsburgh Tribune.

Capt. Edmund J. Farley, Battalion Chief Robert J. Cox and Deputy Chief Harry Scherer sued the city in August on behalf of all current and former fire officials who said they weren’t paid overtime for working more than 212 hours in a 28-day period. The unpaid overtime dated to 2009, according to the lawsuit.

Another 69 current and former fire officials joined the lawsuit, according to court records.
