On Saturday, January 21, 2023, Meriden (CT) firefighters responded to a house fire on Broad Street and Bunker Avenue and rescued a man trapped on the third floor of the home. Crews removed the victim via ladder after being unable to reach him via the interior of the home, according to news reports. The victim was transported in critical condition, and four firefighters were hospitalized with burns; the members were treated and released.
