Portage (IN) Firefighter/Paramedic Frank Gilbert was critically injured when the ambulance in which he was riding was forced off the road and into a tree. Gilbert was thrown head over heels into the front of the box, breaking C4 and C5. He lost all feeling from the neck down. Gilbert, 38 years old, has a wife and two children.
