A raging fire in Bound Brook, New Jersey, on Sunday destroyed several buildings and went to seven alarms.
NJ.com reported that the fire burned through an unoccupied complex known as Meridia Downtown before spreading to and consuming other buildings. One Bound Brook firefighter reportedly sustained a sprained ankle, but no other injuries were reported. The original fire building included 174 apartments plus retail space, Bound Brook Borough Councilman Abel Gomez told reporters.
According to NBC New York, the fire forced more than 100 residents to flee and shut down the local train station. Strong winds help spread the fire. About 3,000 people were left without power in the wake of the incident.
