Retired FDNY Firefighter Passes Away

A retired firefighter with the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) who survived the 9/11 World Trade Center attacks and the Deutsche Bank fire has reportedly passed away.

The New York Daily News (http://bit.ly/1IATY0X) reported on the death of retired FDNY Lt. John Garcia, who served on Engine 68, Ladder 49 in the Bronx and Engine 24, Ladder 5 in Manhattan.

Garcia, a father of four, was well known in the department for helping his fellow firefighters on duty, the report said.
