Ceiling Collapses on NC Firefighter at Raging House Fire

According to a report from WRAL, a Garner (NC) Fire Department (GFD) firefighter was hurt by a partial interior ceiling collapse while responding to a massive house fire Monday night.

The firefighter was taken to WakeMed for evaluation, but is expected to fully recover.

All others inside the home made it out to safety.

The GFD responded to the home on Pagan Road in southern Wake County just before 6:45 p.m. They arrived to smoke that was visible from over one mile away.

Fire crews said they plan to stay on scene throughout the night and morning to monitor any hot spots. As of Tuesday morning, crews were still on scene.
