 Firefighters Control Royal Oak (MI) Commercial Fire

At approximately 05:55 hours on Friday, February 27, firefighters from the Royal Oak Fire Department responded to a report of smoke from a building.

Royal Oak Police reported on the scene with a working fire. Engine 9-20 arrived on the scene and stretched on on the one-story, 60 x 100 commercial building.

Water supply was established and interior attack was started with heavy fire in the rear of the building. Command requested mutual aid from Madison Heights FD for staffing.

Crews preformed interior operations while the truck crew preformed vertical ventilation. Crews operated for approximately 1 hour on the interior to bring the fire under control and remained on the scene for extensive overhaul. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
