Royal Oak (MI) Firefighters Respond to Fire at Recycling Facility

Dennis Walus shared some photos of firefighters working to extinguish a fire in an industrial paper shredder and conveyor.

On Wednesday, October 18, 2017, the Royal Oak (MI) Fire Department was dispatched to Royal Oak Recycling for a reported fire in the building. Upon arrival, a working fire in an industrial paper shredder and conveyor was reported. Engine 930 arrived on the scene and stretched two handlines to the fire and waited for the power to be secured so crews could perform fire attack.

This fire was brought under control in 20 minutes. Crews remained on the scene for overhaul and ventilation. Several workers were checked out by rescue and cleared. Engine 930, 910, and 920, Ladder 912, and Rescue 91 responded to this incident.
