A firefighter with Metro Fire is now recovering after falling 20 feet through the roof of a building on fire on Auburn Boulevard, reports Fox 40 Sacramento (http://bit.ly/1u9Masg)
Firefighters were investigating the fire as suspicious.
Flames broke out close to a handful of other business. Workers say the building that caught fire was some sort of warehouse.
The injured firefighter was taken to UC Davis Medical Center. Fire officials expect him to be back on duty soon.
“It goes to highlight that it is an incredibly hazardous job that these folks perform day in and day out,” Metro Fire Battalion Chief Chris Quinn said.
Paul Williams says he saw the firefighter crawling out of the building.
