At least four people were injured in a Sunday fire at an apartment complex in San Francisco’s Mission District, according to news reports.
The Associated Press reports that about 37 people were displaced by the fire in the four-story wooden apartment building, although that number was expected to increase.
Four firefighters and two civilians were hurt, according to a San Francisco Fire Department dispatcher, however the nature of their injuries was unknown.
The fire was first reported around 10 a.m. on Sunday. When firefighters arrived on scene, flames and smoke were pouring out of several windows on the top floor of the structure, with the flames eventually extending to at least one adjacent building. It took crews about two hours to contain the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
