Seattle (WA) firefighters responded to a call yesterday in which a suicidal man lit a rag fire at a commercial building. Firefighters had to fight the fire while being cautious of the despondent man, according to a report from The Seattle Times (http://bit.ly/MFHLsW)
Seattle police officers spent nearly an hour persuading the man not to harm himself. He eventually surrendered to the police after injuring one wrist, and was taken to an area hospital in serious condition.
Initial reports suggested firefighters did not know whether or not the man was armed. No weapons were found at the scene.
