Slow Fire Response Upsets FL Community Residents

It took approximately 12 minutes for firefighters to arrive at a Lakeland (FL) house fire over the weekend, and by the time they arrived the home was nearly destroyed.

Homeowners in the gated community called Carillon Lakes are upset over the delayed response, which occurred because the nearest fire station is about five miles away. They want a station placed nearer to the 600-home subdivision, according to a report from the local ABC affiliate (http://bit.ly/yJUh7v).
