Small Plane Crashes in Chicago Suburbs

Update: CBS News reports ( the plane was carrying two passengers, a man and his wife. The woman died in the crash and the man suffered burn wounds and was hospitalized at nearby Adventist Hospital in Bolingbrook before being transported via helicopter to Loyola University Medical Center.

Original Story: Suburban Chicago police say a small plane has crashed near a bank in Bolingbrook, reports The Associated Press.

Bolingbrook Police Lt. Michael Rompa says there are two burn victims in the crash. Rompa says emergency personnel are searching for additional victims. Rompa says the two victims are believed to be the pilot and passenger of the plane.

Police say the plane crashed into a tree, light pole and several vehicles near a Chase Bank. The plane was on fire in initial photos of the scene, with smoke billowing from the parking lot. Video footage a short time later showed the fire was out.
