Smokejumper Dies After Being Injured at NM Wildland Fire

The U.S. Fire Administration released its notice on the death of a firefighter who was killed while operating at a wildland fire in New Mexico.

On Monday, May 24, 2021, Smokejumper/Firefighter Tim Hart, 36, of the West Yellowstone Interagency Fire Center, was working the Eiks Fire in New Mexico when he was injured. 

According to news reports, Firefighter Hart was injured in a hard fall. He was taken to the hospital where he remained until his passing on Wednesday, June 2, 2021.
