Spartanburg (SC) Apartment Fire Kills Two Boys

Authorities say two boys have been killed after a fire destroyed an apartment building in Spartanburg, reports The Associated Press.

Whitney Fire Chief Shawn Petras told local media outlets firefighters were called to a 16-apartment unit at the Southern Pines Apartments around 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

The fire was raging, and Petras says firefighters rescued about 10 people from inside the building, including a man in a wheelchair.

Authorities say a father and infant were rescued from the apartment where the boys were found dead, but the other children could not be found.

The fire was one of two deadly fires overnight in the Upstate. Authorities say a mobile home fire killed two adults and a 1-year-old child in Greenville County.
