Special Area of National Fallen Firefighters Walk of Honor to be Unveiled June 11

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) will officially dedicate the Pre-1981 section of the Walk of Honor® at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Park on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. This special area recognizes firefighters who died in the line of duty before the National Fallen Firefighters Monument in the Memoria Park was established in 1981.

The monument is encircled by plaques that list the names of firefighters who have died in the line of duty since 1981. The Pre-1981 section of the Walk of Honor® allows families, departments and friends of these fallen heroes to honor their firefighter with a special brick.

The Walk of Honor® is comprised of bricks that have been purchased to honor fallen firefighters, in appreciation for firefighters who are active in the fire service and in recognition of individuals or organizations who support the fire service. The Walk of Honor® connects the National Fallen Firefighters Monument, the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Chapel and other areas of the Memorial Park.
