This week marks an anniversary of two 1960 tragedies that occurred in the same New York City borough within days of each other. Two jets, one enroute to LaGuardia Airport, the other to Idlewild (now Kennedy) Airport, collided in midair, killing passengers and at least one person on the ground on December 16.
