Mayday, Firefighters Injured in 3-Alarm Staten Island (NY) Fire

A Mayday was declared on the fireground and five firefighters were injured Monday night battling a basement fire in the New York City borough of Staten Island. Fire photographer Steve White provided some photos from the scene.

According to WPIX11, the fire broke out about 9 p.m. in the basement of a home. One of the firefighters has serious but non life-threatening injuries and the other has minor injuries.

Steve White reported via that two members fell through the floor of the two-story home and were recovered and treated by Fire Department of New York (FDNY) EMS.
