10/15/03 1537 hours, Staten Island, NY: *FATAL FERRY ACCIDENT* BC-21 has transmitted a 10-75 for a fatal ferry accident. Numerous EMS and ESU units on scene or en route.
*UPDATE* 1541 hours: There is an off-duty FDNY Lieutenant on the lower level of the boat requesting immediate assistance for numerous injuries. Reports 2 DOAs. One victim has been removed from the water at this time. Marine and Tac units assigned.
*UPDATE* 1551 hours: *ALL HANDS / FERRY ACCIDENT*| BC-21 reports using all hands including numerous special units for a ferry accident with one confirmed DOA and possibly more fataliaties. Extrication in progress on the lower level of the boat. Air bags are being used. Situation extremely DWH.
*UPDATE 1559 hours: *MAJOR EMERGENCY* BC-21 has transmitted a 10-60 code (major emergency) which requires one deputy chief, four battalion chiefs, three rescues (including R-3 and the Collapse Rig), HAZMAT-1, SQUAD-1, and several other specialty pieces. Extrication in progress on the loer level of the boat.
*UPDATE* 1624 hours: *2ND ALARM* Div. 8 has transmitted a 2ND alarm for the 10-60. There are possibley up to 15 DOAs. Temporary morgue established by EMS.
*UPDATE* 1659 hours: *3RD ALARM* FDNY has transmitted a third alarm for the incident on the ferry. Still reports of numerous DOAs and injuries.
*UPDATE 2020 hours: Asst. Chief reports secondary searches are negative. Most recent reports show up to 14 people DOA.
