Steak-umm Launches the Steak-umm Firehouse Challenge 2014

Steak-umm Company announces the launch of the “Steak-umm® Firehouse Challenge 2014,” a campaign designed to recognize and give back to firehouses and the dedicated firefighters who bravely serve our communities. Firefighters who enter their Steak-umm® Sliced Steaks recipe now through July 5 at www.firehousechallenge2014.com have a chance to win the $20,000 Grand Prize or other prizes for their firehouse.

Steak-umm is searching for the best recipes made by firefighters using Steak-umm® Sliced Steaks. Steak-umm® is not just for Philly cheesesteak sandwiches! Recipe submissions should be delicious, creative and appealing, while demonstrating the versatility of 100% beef Steak-umm® Sliced Steaks.

Three finalist recipes will be chosen by a panel of judges. Videos of the semi-finalists and their recipes will be posted at www.firehousechallenge2014.com and on the Steak-umm® Facebook page  so that fans can participate by voting for their favorite. The Grand Prize winner will be chosen by a panel of celebrity judges and will win $20,000 for his or her firehouse. The two remaining finalists will each receive a First Prize of $2,000 for their firehouse. The recipe with the most Facebook fan votes will win the Fan Favorite prize of $5,000 for the entrant’s firehouse.

Steak-umm is also supporting the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation as part of the Steak-umm® Firehouse Challenge campaign by donating $.10 for every Steak-umm® Firehouse Challenge Facebook Fan Favorite vote, up to $5,000.

“We’re very excited and honored to be able to support the heroic work of our firefighters, while discovering the great Steak-umm® recipes being served in firehouses across the country,” says Nancy Rubin, executive vice president. “We’re looking forward to a great competition and a lot of fun.”

Stay tuned to the Steak-umm® Facebook page for the winner announcements on Oct. 3, 2014.
