Teen Dies After Being Rescued from KY House Fire

According to a report from WCPO, a 16-year-old teen has died after Florence (KY) Fire Department (FFD) firefighters rescued the teen and another victim from the basement of a house fire in Walton, Kentucky, the coroner’s office said.

The FFD responded to the home on Maher Road at around 1:40 a.m. Wednesday. Chief Rodney Wren said firefighters rescued two people from the home’s finished basement, and the victims were then rushed to a local hospital. Several other people evacuated out of the home to safety.

The condition of the other victim is not known. Fire officials are expected to release more information on the incident this morning.
