The Bethel, Connecticut, public safety dispatch center is the first beta site for DICTAPHONE

The Bethel, Connecticut, public safety dispatch center is the first beta site for DICTAPHONE CORPORATION`s new FreedomTM digital recording system. The center handles fire, emergency medical, and police calls. The Freedom open-access recording system features modular design and standard file access methods, including SMB, NFS, and FTP. Voice recordings may be stored on hard disk, ZIP disk, or DVD-RAM. The system`s plug-in telecommunications interfaces and operating system-independent design enhance adaptability.

The Trenton, New Jersey, public safety communications center is also a Freedom beta site. The system will replace the agency`s VHS-based system. The center will store its most recent recordings on DVD-RAM, and will be able to archive recordings on the agency`s network server.
