Thousands Attend Funeral for Fallen Worcester (MA) Fire Lieutenant

Thousands of firefighters are attending the funeral service today for fallen Worcester (MA) Fire Lieutenant Jason Menard, who lost his life last week in a fire that left several other firefighters injured.

Menard died while helping two other firefighters escape from the fire on 7 Stockholm Street last Wednesday.

According to MassLive.com, firefighters from across New England, other states, and even Canada attended the funeral services Monday at St. John’s Church in Worcester. Menard leaves behind a wife and three children.

“Our entire city struggles again alongside our dedicated fire department,” Father Walter Riley said. “Not only do we have a beautiful family hurting, but we have a city that shakes its head in disbelief.”
