Firefighters battled a three-alarm fire in northwest Baltimore, reports wbaltv.com.
Fire officials said crews were called around 3:10 p.m. to the 5100 block of Cordelia Avenue, where nine homes were on fire. Officials said they were able to bring the fire under control around 5 p.m.
Fire officials said crews were met by heavy flames coming from a home when they first arrived. The fire spread to adjoining homes.
There were no initial reports of injuries.
Nine homes were damaged in the fire. Officials said 39 residents in those homes were displaced. The Red Cross is assisting those residents.
There is no word yet on what caused the fire.
