Three Die in Atlanta House Fire

Firefighters are trying to determine whether a bolt of lightning caused an overnight house fire that killed three people in southwest Atlanta, reports CBS Atlanta (http://bit.ly/1sM7Gmo)

Crews responded shortly after 2 a.m. Tuesday to 3522 Revere Road. The home is in a neighborhood that sits just east of Fairburn Road outside I-285.

Neighbor Patricia Culpepper said that a bolt of lightning shook her out of bed. She called 911 when she realized her next-door neighbors’ house was on fire. She ran outside and felt helpless, she said.

“I just started calling their names out,” said Culpepper. “I had called the fire department. I couldn’t get over there because the fire was burning like someone had thrown something on the fire.”
