Dec. 11—NORTH BRANFORD — Three firefighters were injured and a home seriously damaged in a fire on Totoket Road early Wednesday, according to a town fire official.
Crews were called out to the unoccupied house on Totoket Road at about 3 a.m. Wednesday, North Branford Fire Chief Anthony Esposito said.
Arriving crews found heavy fire showing from a ranch-style house, Esposito said, and all town fire resources, as well as mutual aid from Durham, Wallingford, Guilford and North Madison, were called to the scene.
He said the fire eventually was put out, but three firefighters were injured while battling the blaze and were being treated for minor burn injuries.
Esposito said the home was seriously damaged, adding, “I would say most likely it will be knocked down.”
The fire marshal was on scene Wednesday afternoon investigating the cause of the blaze.
