Aug. 19—Three people were injured in a house fire near North and Ramsey streets Wednesday night, a news release from the Fayetteville Fire Department said.

The fire was reported about 8:30 p.m. at 304 Neville St., Battalion Chief Adam Ferguson said in the release.

By the time firefighters arrived, smoke was billowing from the single-story home. Three people had already left the scene to seek medical attention, according to Ferguson.

The fire started in the kitchen, Assistant Fire Chief Joseph McLamb said Thursday.

The American Red Cross was called to assist the three adults and two children displaced by the fire, the release said.

A dog and a cat found during a search of the house were treated by firefighters on the scene, according to the release.
