Three-Year-Old Child Dies in NC Mobile Home Fire

According to a report from FOX8, a three-year-old child died after a mobile home fire on Tuesday in East Flat Rock, North Carolina, in Henderson County.

At around 9:07 a.m., Blue Ridge Fire and Rescue (BRFR) was dispatched for a residence on fire on Gull Avenue, according to Henderson County Sheriff’s Office.

BRFR crews arrived within minutes and discovered a single-wide mobile home showing heavy fire throughout the interior, deputies said.

It was discovered that a 3-year-old child, later identified by the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office as Liam Valazquez Martinez, perished in the fire.

Deputies later said two other children and one adult were also inside the home when the fire started, but none were seriously injured.

BRFR officials, the Henderson County Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office are now investigating the cause of the fire, which is believed to be accidental. The home was said to have working smoke detectors at the time of the fire.
