Kenny Fox, Decatur County (TN) Fire Chief, died saving the lives of two other volunteer firefighters by pushing them out of the way before the roof collapsed during a fire at a restaurant.
Chief Fox and his crew reported to the scene at The Oak Hill Cafe Bar and Grill at 4:45 a.m. Saturday. While fighting the fire, the roof collapsed, reports The Jackson Sun (http://bit.ly/HNm1oT).
Nashville News Channel 5 reports that Chief Fox, 39, was also a sergeant in the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department. He is survived by a wife and three sons.
Jeremy Inman and Randy Inman, the two men are brothers, were taken to the county hospital. Jeremy Inman was later sent to Vanderbilt for treatment for third-degree burns. Randy Inman was treated and released at the county hospital.
The fire is being investigated by local authorities and the ATF.
