Torrance (CA) Memorial Medical Center verified as ACS/ABA Burn Center
The Torrance (CA) Memorial Burn Center has been verified as a burn center by the Committee on Trauma of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Burn Association (ABA). The verification signifies that the Burn Center has demonstrated a commitment to providing the highest quality of care for all burn patients. The facility has provided burn care since 1973 and has been designated as a specialized burn care center by the State of California since 1978.
To achieve verification, each hospital must undergo an on-site review by a team of experienced surgeons who use the current Burn Care chapter in the ACS Resources for the Optimal Care of the Injured Patient manual as a guideline.
