Firefighters Respond to Troy (NY) House Fire with Reports of Children Trapped

The city of Troy (NY) Fire Department responded to this recent house fire, and Sidewinder Photography offered some photos from the scene. More can be found HERE.

First-arriving units found heavy fire and smoke pushing from a three-story house with a report of a child trapped inside the building. Firefighters from Engine 1, Truck 1, and Engine 4 made entry in to the building with multiple handlines in to the front door of the building. Command confirmed that they did not have anyone trapped in the building and advised firefighters to uses caution.

As heavy fire and smoke pushed from the first and second floor, firefighters made an aggressive push, knocking down the heavy fire. Fire traveled to the attic, and heavy fire and smoke pushed from the A, B, and C sides of the structure. Firefighters from Truck 1 went into aerial operations, using a master stream on the third floor.

The city of Watervliet, Cohoes, and Green Island fire departments all with Colonie EMS were brought in to the city of Troy to assist with running all of the emergency calls while firefighters were on scene. No residents or firefighters were injured.

A woman was reportedly arrested subsequently for leaving her children at the home alone.
