Twin Boys Die in Kansas House Fire

Two twin boys have died following a house fire in Pratt, reports KAKE 13 (http://bit.ly/19mvEzQ).

The fire broke out shortly before 3 p.m. Monday afternoon. A family member at the scene that the mother escaped the fire, but she could not save her two twin boys who were not quite one years old.

In a news release from the Pratt Police Department, authorities say the home was consumed in fire when emergency personnel arrived on scene.

Police say “crews worked diligently to rescue the children, who were pronounced dead at the scene.”

The children’s mother has been transported to the burn unit at Via Christi-St. Francis in Wichita. Her current condition is unknown.

Police say the children’s father was not home at the time of the fire. The names have not been released.
