Two-Alarm Fire Breaks Out at New Orleans (LA) Vacant House, Authorities Say

Feb. 15—A vacant house caught fire in the 7th Ward Saturday morning, according to the New Orleans Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to a call of smoke in the area at 3:08 a.m. and found that the rear of 2630 Annette Street was engulfed in flames. The fire had also begun to spread to another vacant structure next door at 2632 Annette Street, prompting authorities to strike another alarm.

The property where the flames spread had minor damage to the exterior. No one was injured in the blaze, the NOFD said.

Eighteen units with 44 firefighters helped to bring the flames under control at 3:48 a.m. Saturday. The cause remains under investigation, the NOFD said.
